Chapter 1

Author’s POV:

Jaipur, Rajasthan:

The hall is painfully silent. All eyes are filled with tears, which contain unbreakable pain. Still, each one is pretending that nothing is happening inside them.

Yes, this is the view of Rajvansh Mansion, where happiness left when Rivaan was 4 years old. Now they all are gathered in the living room, listening to the news.

The news: β€œToday is the birthday of Kabir Goyal, son of Rajendra Goyal and Savita Goyal.”

The news continued that today he had turned 20.

All the members of the Rajvansh family were swallowing their pain, especially Rivaan, because he is the emotional one. Then Nakul took Rivaan’s hand and dragged him into his room.

For a few moments, there was complete silence. In the living room, the remaining two brothers and their father also went to their respective rooms.

Meanwhile in Nakul’s room:

Nakul was observing Rivaan for a long time, waiting for him to say something or break down, because the bond between Nakul and Rivaan was beyond words. They tease each other, trouble each other without limits, but they are also each other’s silent strength.

Then, a deep sob broke the silence of the room.

It was Rivaan. His eyes were red and swollen.

Nakul, who was waiting for this, rushed towards him, made him sit on the bed, and himself sat on the carpet holding Rivaan’s hand.

Nakul: Riv, baccha, you are strong, right? You said before that you will not shed tears for that lady… then why now?

Rivaan: Bh…bhai… but sh…she left us… when we needed her… I needed her the most… she left us bhai… it hurts…

Rivaan was sobbing painfully, unable to speak properly.

Nakul held himself together because Rivaan needed him.

He slowly got up, picked Rivaan in his arms, sat on the bed with support of the headrest, made Rivaan lie down, and placed his head on his lap.

Rivaan immediately turned and hugged Nakul tightly, hiding his face in his stomach.

Now the pain was visible on Nakul’s face too.

He never wanted to see his baby brother like this. Yes, Rivaan is in college, but emotionally he is still fragile in front of Nakul.

Rivaan’s tears soaked Nakul’s shirt. His breathing was unsteady.

Nakul gently ruffled his hair, giving him warmth.

Nakul: Riv, I know it hurts, but if we break down, then she will win. You have me, Papa, Vivaan bhai, Shivayy bhai.

Rivaan (whispering): Bhai, I know we have to be strong, but I don’t know how to manage this feeling. I am strong in front of everyone, but in front of you, I break down.

Nakul: Riv, you never have to be strong in front of me. I am always here to hold you, to carry your every emotion. But now, please stop crying.

His voice softened at the end.

After some time, Rivaan sat up. Nakul gave him water.

Before drinking, Rivaan took a few deep breaths, then slowly drank water and calmed himself.

Thenβ€”

Nakul (teasing): By the way, Riv, you look like a small rabbit after crying.

Rivaan: Oh really? Then you look like a bear… oh sorry, bears are cute, but you don’t even have the β€œC” of cute.

Nakul (mock offended): You don’t even know my looks, Rivaan Singh Rajvansh.

Rivaan: Obviously, who wants to know about your ugly looks?

And that’s itβ€”the pillow fight started, and the whole room turned into a wrestling ring.

Meanwhile in Pune, Maharashtra:

A girl was about to sleep when cold water was poured on her.

She shivered, but there was no mercy.

A harsh voice echoed: β€œWho gave you permission to sleep?”

It was Rakesh Kumar, the owner of the orphanage, who only cared about money.

He continued in rage: β€œI told you, you will not rest until you bring money. You are a spoiled brat who was thrown like garbage in this orphanage.”

He didn’t stop: β€œIf I see you resting again without money, you will see my real side.”

He left, slamming the door.

Inside, a fragile girl was silently crying, almost begging to die.

Vidya whispered to herself: Don’t cry… you are strong… Neha didi said Dadu went with a good fairy… one day you will also go there.

After motivating herself, she stood up, took a plate, and went out to beg.

Yes, Rakesh made children beg on streets and snatched their money, claiming it was for their food.

Vidya endured everything with hope of meeting her grandfather again.

Back to Jaipur, Rajasthan:

The fight ended. Nakul made Rivaan sleep comfortably and stepped out.

As soon as he came out, his eyes turned redβ€”not from tears, but from rage.

Rage for the woman who made his brother cry… who left them when they needed her the most.

But being Vivaan’s right hand, he doesn’t act without his permission.

So he went to the home gym and started punching the bag until it tore apart and sand spilled on the floor.

He didn’t notice someone watching him from the window.

It was Vivaan Singh Rajvanshβ€”whose name alone can send chills down anyone’s spine.

He never expresses emotions but silently protects his family.

With an evil smirk, he made a call to his assistant and gave instructions.

Then he entered the gym.

Nakul was breathing heavily. Vivaan made him sit and asked what happened.

Nakul hesitated, but one sharp glare from Vivaan made him speak.

After hearing everything, Vivaan’s knuckles turned white with rage.

Nakul tried to calm him, knowing no one can save those who hurt his family.

After talking for some time, they went to their rooms.

Next morning:

Abhimaan held the newspaper, but the headline shocked him.

The news is (To be disclosed in the next chapter)
