The cabin fell into a gentle silence after Takshvi's reassuring words. The earlier tension slowly dissolved, leaving behind only the rhythmic sound of the air conditioner and Trisha's soft, peaceful breaths as she slept on the examination bed. Anish remained seated quietly beside her, watching over the little girl with the same protective warmth he always carried for her. His eyes unknowingly drifted toward her tiny, injured knee, and the sight made his expression soften. Without making any unnecessary movement that could disturb her sleep, he carefully cleaned the wound once again and dressed it properly, making sure the bandage sat comfortably over the scrape. Once satisfied, he let out a quiet sigh and stood up.
Walking toward his desk, Anish opened one of the drawers and picked up an empty syringe along with a small medicine vial. His movements were calm and practiced as he began preparing the injection. Takshvi, who had been silently observing him all this while, noticed what he was doing. A hint of confusion crossed her face before she asked: "Bhaiya, y?"
(Brother, this?)
Anish simply hummed in acknowledgment while drawing the medicine into the syringe with careful precision before replying: "Hnn bhabhi maa, tb tiny pari already bht drd ma thi toh jhuth bol diya but usko infection ho jaega. Chinta mtt kriye, aaram se krunga."
(Yes, Bhabhi Maa. Tiny Pari was already in a lot of pain then, so I lied to her. But she could develop an infection. Don't worry, I'll do it very gently.)
Hearing his explanation, Takshvi quietly nodded. She walked toward the bed and gently lifted the sleeping Trisha into her arms. The little girl instinctively wrapped her tiny arms around her mother's neck even in her sleepy state and rested her cheek against Takshvi's shoulder. In her drowsy voice, barely above a whisper, she murmured: "Good morning mumma."
Takshvi smiled affectionately and pressed a loving kiss against her cheek before saying softly: "Isha, jgh toh dekho beta. Abhi good morning nhi h, eyes open kro."
(Isha, look where you are, sweetheart. It's not morning yet, open your eyes.)
Obediently, Trisha slowly blinked her sleepy eyes open. She looked around the familiar cabin for a few seconds before recognition dawned upon her face. Instantly, her lips curled into an adorable pout as she complained: "Y toh devil area h mumma. Aur yaha k devil king nhi dikh rhe."
(This is the devil area, Mumma. And I can't see the Devil King here.)
Takshvi couldn't stop herself from laughing at the innocent complaint. Shaking her head with amusement, she replied: "Kya dushmani h apki apke chachu se, haan..."
(What rivalry do you have with your uncle, hmm...?)
Trisha let out a tiny giggle, her sleepy mood completely disappearing as she admitted mischievously: "Mumma, bht maza aata h preshan krne ma."
(Mumma, it's so much fun teasing him.)
Almost on cue, Anish deliberately cleared his throat from behind them.
The familiar sound immediately made Trisha's eyes widen. She gasped dramatically before quickly hiding herself inside Takshvi's embrace, clutching her tightly as if seeking protection from an imaginary monster. Peeking only slightly, she exclaimed: "Ohh no mumma, devil king idhar hi h."
(Oh no, Mumma, the Devil King is right here.)
Anish merely shook his head in helpless amusement before extending his arms toward her and saying: "Tiny pari, mere sath aao."
(Tiny Pari, come with me.)
Still clinging to Takshvi, Trisha looked at him suspiciously before asking with complete innocence: "Kyu chachu?"
(Why, Chachu?)
Without giving her much chance to object, Anish gently lifted her into his arms. Looking toward Takshvi, he spoke calmly: "Bhabhi maa, aap bhai ko keh do ki dinner bahar krne chlenge toh yhi aa jayy. Tb tk m isko sambhal lunga."
(Bhabhi Maa, please tell Bhai that if we're going out for dinner, he should come here. Until then, I'll take care of her.)
Takshvi looked at him silently for a moment. She immediately understood what he intended to do. Her eyes searched his face, silently asking whether everything would be alright. In response, Anish simply blinked reassuringly, silently promising that he would handle everything gently. Trusting him completely, Takshvi nodded before walking out of the cabin to inform Yuvaan.
As soon as the door closed behind her, Anish carefully laid Trisha back on the examination bed. Sitting beside her, he smiled softly and asked: "Tiny pari, chachu ki baat manoge?"
(Tiny Pari, will you listen to your Chachu?)
Trusting him without hesitation, Trisha nodded her head.
Smiling warmly, Anish gently revealed the prepared syringe and said: "Chotu sa injection lgva lo, pain nhi hoga pkka."
(Just take a tiny injection. I promise it won't hurt.)
The effect was immediate.
Trisha's cheerful face froze. Her eyes grew round with panic before she quickly sat upright and shook her head repeatedly in refusal. Fear instantly took over her tiny heart as she cried: "Nhi, no no.... mumma, muje mumma k pass jana h....."
(No, no... Mumma, I want to go to Mumma...)
Seeing the sudden fear on her face, Anish's heart softened. Without wasting another second, he immediately pulled her into a comforting hug, hiding her tiny trembling form safely against his chest. One hand rested protectively behind her head while the other gently rubbed her back in slow, soothing circles as he whispered: "Shhh.... drr kyu rhe ho. M hu na yhi pr.... shant ekdum, dheere dheere sans lo."
(Shhh... why are you scared? I'm right here... stay calm, take slow deep breaths.)
Unable to control herself, Trisha hiccupped softly as tears gathered in her eyes. Holding onto his shirt tightly, she pleaded in a trembling voice: "Chachu ni lgao na..."
(Chachu, please don't give it...)
Those tiny words tightened Anish's heart painfully. Every instinct in him wanted to spare her from even this little discomfort, yet he knew the injection was necessary to prevent an infection.
Just then, a gentle knock echoed through the cabin.
Collecting himself, Anish replied: "Come in."
The cabin door slowly opened.
The very next second, Anish's heartbeat unexpectedly skipped.
Standing quietly near the entrance was Tanvisha. She held a packet of medicines along with a folded prescription in her hands. For a brief moment, both of them simply looked at each other. Then, without speaking another word, Tanvisha calmly walked toward them.
Her attention immediately shifted to the frightened little girl crying in Anish's arms.
The softness in her eyes became even gentler as she stopped beside them and spoke in a calm, soothing voice: "Beta, rona bnd kriye. Kya hua h?"
(Sweetheart, don't cry. What happened?)
Still wiping her moist eyes, Trisha looked at the unfamiliar yet kind face. There was something incredibly comforting about Tanvisha's gentle expression. The warmth in her voice slowly eased the little girl's fear, making her feel unexpectedly safe. Looking up at her, she replied honestly: "Y mere chachu h and muje injection lgane ki keh rhe h... aap mana krdo na..."
(He's my Chachu, and he's saying he'll give me an injection... please tell him not to...)
Hearing that innocent request, Tanvisha couldn't help feeling pity for the frightened child. She looked toward Anish before asking gently: "Need h kya doctor?"
(Is it necessary, Doctor?)
Anish cleared his throat before answering simply: "Hnn."
(Yes.)
Tanvisha nodded thoughtfully before asking: "M help krdu?"
(Shall I help?)
Anish silently nodded in agreement.
A small reassuring smile appeared on Tanvisha's face as she carefully took Trisha into her own arms. Holding the little girl close, she gently rubbed her back with slow comforting strokes before saying softly: "Rote nhi h beta, m apki help kru?"
(Don't cry, sweetheart. Shall I help you?)
Trisha looked at her with innocent confusion, silently waiting for an explanation.
Understanding her hesitation, Tanvisha smiled gently and replied: "Apko pain feel nhi hoga jyada and agr hua na toh hum inhe icecream party k liye kahinge, deal?"
(You won't feel much pain, and if you do, we'll make him give us an ice cream party. Deal?)
Almost instantly, Trisha's watery eyes lit up with excitement. The fear that had clouded her face moments ago faded little by little. She eagerly nodded her head.
Seeing her agree, Tanvisha sat comfortably on the examination bed before opening her arms and saying: "Come, hug me."
Without hesitation, Trisha nodded and leaned forward to hug her tightly.
Holding the little girl securely against herself, Tanvisha continued gently rubbing her back, silently distracting her. At the same time, she subtly lifted her gaze toward Anish and gave him a small signal.
Understanding immediately, Anish stepped closer.
Very carefully, he cleaned Trisha's tiny arm with an alcohol swab before positioning the syringe. Making every movement as gentle and slow as possible, he inserted the needle and gradually administered the entire medicine.
The moment the needle entered, Trisha winced and instinctively called out: "Chachu..."
Without stopping his gentle movements, Anish softly comforted her: "Hnn tiny pari, see it's done."
(Yes, Tiny Pari, see... it's done.)
As promised, he withdrew the needle almost immediately and gently pressed the cotton over the injection site before softly rubbing her arm to ease the discomfort.
Meanwhile, Tanvisha looked down at the little girl with concern and asked lovingly: "Bht pain hua?"
(Did it hurt a lot?)
Still nestled comfortably in her embrace, Trisha shook her head before replying honestly: "Thoda hi hua tha. Thankyou, ap bht acche ho."
(It only hurt a little. Thank you, you're very nice.)
Tanvisha simply smiled and lightly shook her head. Remembering the reason she had originally come, she finally looked toward Anish and asked while showing him the medicines and prescription: "Vo medicines k bare ma puchna tha ki heavy toh nhi h na, muje harm krti h."
(I wanted to ask about these medicines. They aren't too strong, right? They won't harm me?)
Anish carefully took the prescription and medicines from her. After examining everything properly for a few moments, he looked back at her reassuringly and answered: "No, don't worry. Apko harm nhi krengi."
(No, don't worry. They won't harm you.)
Relief became visible on Tanvisha's face. She gave a grateful nod before saying softly: "Thank you."
Anish simply nodded in return.
Just then, the cabin door opened again.
Takshvi walked inside and immediately looked toward Trisha. The little girl was now completely calm, happily sitting beside Tanvisha while absentmindedly playing with the edge of her dupatta.
A warm smile spread across Takshvi's face before she gently reminded her daughter: "Beta, unka duppatta h vo. Apke khelne ki chiz nhi h."
(Sweetheart, that's her dupatta. It's not something to play with.)
Trisha immediately looked toward her mother with a bright smile and replied proudly: "Mumma, inhone meri help ki."
(Mumma, she helped me.)
Takshvi's gaze slowly shifted toward Tanvisha. The young girl instantly lowered her eyes with quiet hesitation. Before Takshvi could ask anything further, Anish calmly spoke: "Bhabhi maa, y vhi h."
(Bhabhi Maa, she's the same girl.)
Realization struck Takshvi immediately.
Her eyes widened slightly as she looked at Tanvisha once again—not with curiosity this time, but with deep admiration and gratitude. She could still see the gentleness with which Tanvisha had comforted her daughter only moments ago. A warm smile appeared on her face as she sincerely said: "Thankyou so much ki apne meri beti ko smbhala."
(Thank you so much for taking care of my daughter.)
Tanvisha quietly lowered her gaze, her fingers tightening ever so slightly around the medicines she was holding. There was neither complaint nor expectation in her eyes, only the same quiet composure she always carried. Giving a small nod, she replied softly: "Koi baat nhi, abhi m jati hu."
(It's alright. I'll leave now.)
Anish instinctively opened his mouth, wanting to stop her or perhaps say something more, but before any words could leave his lips, Tanvisha had already turned around and walked out of the cabin with slow, measured steps.
As the cabin door closed behind her, Takshvi's gaze unknowingly followed the young girl until she disappeared. Only then did she notice something she had missed earlier. Tanvisha's hands were visibly swollen, marked with fading bruises and fresh scratches. Even her legs bore signs of injuries that could not have been accidental. The sight made Takshvi's expression harden immediately. Her jaw clenched tightly as anger and concern rose together within her. It was painfully obvious now that something was terribly wrong. Those wounds were not normal, and the fear hidden in Tanvisha's eyes only confirmed her growing suspicion.
The moment Tanvisha disappeared, Anish turned away from everyone. Unable to control the emotions that had been building inside him, he quickly wiped the tears gathering in his eyes before anyone could notice.
Takshvi looked toward Trisha for a moment. The little girl had already forgotten the injection and was happily playing with the pillow on the examination bed, completely unaware of the emotional storm surrounding the adults.
Walking over to Anish, Takshvi gently placed a comforting hand on his shoulder before saying softly: "Bhaiya, frse rona h."
(Bhaiya, you're crying again.)
Anish turned toward her with moist eyes. His voice was heavy with emotions as he confessed: "Bhabhi maa muje kyu drd ho rha h unki aisi halat dekhkr. M toh janta bhi nhi hu na unhe. Apne dekha na ki vo nzr tk nhi uthati jyada der."
(Bhabhi Maa, why does it hurt me so much seeing her in that condition? I don't even know her. You saw it too... she can't even keep her eyes raised for long.)
Listening to him, Takshvi gently rubbed his back in slow, reassuring circles, trying to calm the storm inside him. She understood exactly what he was feeling, even before he himself could. Looking at him affectionately, she replied: "Bhaiya, m unke ghr jakr baat krungi pr aap roiye mtt. And jo apka drd mehsoos ho rha h vo isiliye h kyunki aap unko psnd krne lge ho."
(Bhaiya, I'll go to her house and talk to them, but please don't cry. And the reason you're feeling this pain is because you've started liking her.)
Those words left Anish speechless. Silence filled the cabin once again. His heart suddenly began beating so rapidly that he could almost hear it himself. For a moment, he lowered his eyes, replaying every interaction he had shared with Tanvisha since meeting her. Her frightened eyes, her quiet nature, the way she comforted Trisha despite carrying pain of her own, and the silent strength hidden beneath her fragile appearance—all of it flashed before him.
It almost felt as though his own heart was answering Takshvi's words before his mind could. A small, involuntary smile slowly appeared on his lips.
Watching that expression, Takshvi couldn't help smiling too. She had never seen her brother react this way before. Patting his shoulder once again, she reminded him gently: "Ab aap kaam kriye, Vaan bhi aane vale honge."
(Now get back to work. Vaan will be here soon.)
Anish simply nodded before composing himself. Taking a deep breath, he quickly gathered the remaining files and finished wrapping up his work as if trying to distract himself from his own thoughts.
A few moments later, the cabin door opened again. Yuvaan walked inside expecting to find only Takshvi and Anish, but the moment his eyes landed on his little daughter sitting on the examination bed, surprise immediately spread across his face. Looking at her, he asked with concern: "Isha, bcche aap yaha?"
(Isha, sweetheart, you're here?)
The instant Trisha saw her father, her face brightened despite everything that had happened.
Looking at him with slightly moist eyes, she whispered softly: "Papa...."
Yuvaan instantly sensed the pain hidden behind that single word. Without wasting another second, he hurried toward her and gently lifted her into his arms.
Before he could move much, Takshvi quickly warned him: "Vaan, aaram se chot lgi h usko."
(Vaan, be careful. She's injured.)
Hearing that, Yuvaan froze immediately. His eyes widened with worry as he carefully looked over Trisha before his gaze finally settled on the bandaged injury on her tiny knee. For a brief second, his breathing seemed to stop. His heart sank at the sight.
Holding her even more carefully now, he asked anxiously: "Y kese hogya? Itni chot kese aagyi?"
(How did this happen? How did you get hurt so badly?)
Takshvi let out a helpless sigh before answering: "Vaan, shant. Thodi si lgi h aur y madam school ma ldkr aai h."
(Vaan, calm down. It's just a minor injury, and this little madam got into a fight at school.)
Yuvaan slowly shifted his gaze toward Trisha. His expression grew serious. The little girl immediately gulped nervously. She remembered very well that her father had strictly warned her never to get into fights at school. Now that he knew the truth, she could already imagine herself getting scolded.
Crossing his arms, Yuvaan looked at her and asked calmly: "Hmm, Kya kehna h Miss. Airan?"
(Hmm... what do you have to say, Miss. Airan?)
Trisha immediately lowered her head in guilt before whispering: "Sorry papa."
Keeping his tone firm, Yuvaan asked: "Ldai kyu ki?"
(Why did you fight?)
Trisha's lips trembled as she tried to explain herself through teary eyes: "Vo keh rhi thi ki uske chachu best h but mere chachu best h na... fr usne muje dhkka diya toh mene bhi usko dhkka de diya."
(She was saying that her uncle is the best, but my Chachu is the best, right...? Then she pushed me, so I pushed her back too.)
Yuvaan let out a slow breath before saying seriously: "Mene apko samjhaya tha na ki ldai nhi krni h, aap teacher ko keh skte th ya fr muje ya mumma ya fr apne chachu ko hi bta dete."
(I explained to you that you shouldn't fight. You could have told your teacher, or me, or Mumma, or even your Chachu.)
His stern voice was enough to make Trisha flinch.
Before the little girl could become even more frightened, Takshvi immediately stepped in and interrupted: "Vaan, kya kr rhe ho? Bcchi h vo, pyar se baat kro."
(Vaan, what are you doing? She's just a child. Talk to her gently.)
Yuvaan's eyes returned to Trisha. She was silently wiping away her tears with her tiny hands while trying hard not to cry loudly. That sight shattered whatever firmness remained in his heart. His expression softened instantly.
Without another word, he pulled her close into his embrace and gently kissed her forehead before consoling her: "Shhh.... I am sorry bacche, nhi dantunga. Rona bnd kriye."
(Shhh... I'm sorry, sweetheart. I won't scold you. Stop crying now.)
Unable to stop herself anymore, Trisha sobbed softly as she complained: "Sb gussa hi kr rhe h. Pehle mumma na danta fr apne."
(Everyone is getting angry with me. First Mumma scolded me, then you did.)
Yuvaan immediately began rubbing her back in slow, comforting circles, gently rocking her in his arms as he reassured her: "No mera baccha, koi nhi dant rha ab. Shant ho jao na...."
(No, my baby. Nobody is scolding you now. Please calm down.)
Trisha quietly nodded while trying to calm herself down.
Once she relaxed a little, Yuvaan softly explained: "Baccha ldne k liye isiliye mana krte h kyunki apko chot lg skti h na and dekho lg bhi gyi. Aur ldai krna acchi baat nhi hoti."
(Sweetheart, we tell you not to fight because you can get hurt, and see—you did get hurt. Fighting is never a good thing.)
In those words, Anish suddenly coughed loudly. Almost immediately, memories of Yuvaan's own incidents—when he himself never hesitated to get into fights whenever someone troubled his loved ones—flashed through his mind. Takshvi understood exactly what Anish was remembering. She couldn't stop herself from laughing.
Yuvaan immediately looked at both with narrow eyes before asking: "Dono ko sunne ka mnn lgta h?"
(Do both of you feel like getting scolded?)
Takshvi instantly averted her gaze, trying her best to suppress her laughter. At the same time, Anish quickly picked up the remaining files from the table and busied himself, placing them inside the drawer as though he hadn't heard anything at all.
Meanwhile, Trisha, having completely forgotten about the earlier scolding, suddenly remembered something important. Looking at her father, she complained dramatically: "Papa, chachu na injection lgaya."
(Papa, Chachu gave me an injection.)
Yuvaan smiled softly before looking at her tiny arm where the bandage had been neatly secured.
Understanding exactly why it had been given, he lovingly kissed her cheek and replied: "Isha, infection ho jata na... isiliye. Abhi chlo yummy khana khainge. Btao kya khaoge?"
(Isha, you could have gotten an infection... that's why. Now come, let's have some yummy food. Tell me, what would you like to eat?)
The moment food was mentioned, Trisha's eyes sparkled with excitement. All traces of tears disappeared instantly.
She eagerly nodded before answering: "Papa, dosa."
Yuvaan smiled and nodded before looking toward the others and saying: "Shivi, Chote chlo.."
(Shivi, Chote, let's go.)
Within a few minutes, everyone walked out of the hospital together.
Anish locked his cabin before handing over his car keys to the security guard, informing him that he would collect his car the following day. With everything settled, he joined Yuvaan and Takshvi.
Soon, all four of them settled comfortably inside Yuvaan's car. Trisha happily climbed into Anish's lap in the back seat, refusing to sit anywhere else. Takshvi occupied the front passenger seat while Yuvaan settled behind the steering wheel. As the car slowly drove away from the hospital, the atmosphere inside became warm and peaceful once again.
Completely forgetting the pain in her knee, Trisha excitedly began telling Anish all about her school—her classmates, funny incidents, teachers, and every tiny detail she could remember. Her animated expressions and innocent storytelling made Anish laugh again, his earlier sadness momentarily fading as the little girl unknowingly filled the car with cheerful chatter.
Soon, Yuvaan pulled the car into the parking area of a nearby restaurant and switched off the engine. The peaceful drive from the hospital had already lightened everyone's mood. As they stepped out of the car, Anish immediately walked around to the back seat and gently picked Trisha up in his arms before she could even climb down by herself.
The little girl happily wrapped both her arms around his neck, resting comfortably against him as though it was the most natural place for her to be. Anish instinctively adjusted his hold, making sure not to put any pressure on her injured knee. Watching the two of them together, Yuvaan and Takshvi exchanged helpless yet affectionate smiles.
Shaking her head at their antics, Takshvi couldn't help commenting with amusement: "Abhi thodi der pehle hi dono ka yudh hone vala tha aur ab dekho. Kuch kehna bekar h."
(Just a little while ago, these two were about to go to war, and now look at them. There's no point saying anything.)
Yuvaan let out a soft chuckle in agreement before all four of them entered the restaurant. The warm aroma of freshly prepared food welcomed them inside as they settled comfortably at a table. After everyone had taken their seats, Yuvaan picked up the menu, glanced through it briefly, and placed the order for all of them without much discussion since he already knew everyone's favorites.
Meanwhile, Anish settled Trisha comfortably in his lap, making sure she was sitting in a way that her injured leg remained safe. Leaning slightly toward her with a playful smile, he whispered: "Hum share krenge."
(We'll share.)
Trisha's face instantly lit up with excitement. Nodding enthusiastically, she replied: "Hnn, mene dosa mangaya h."
(Yes! I ordered dosa.)
Anish's lips curved into a mischievous smirk as he answered: "Mene naan aur daal makhni."
(I ordered naan and dal makhani.)
The thought of sharing both meals made Trisha giggle happily. Clapping her tiny hands together, she said: "Maze aane vale h."
(This is going to be so much fun.)
Watching the secret planning taking place between uncle and niece, Takshvi folded her arms dramatically before looking toward Yuvaan and huffing: "Vaan, koi hume bhul hi gya h."
(Vaan, someone has completely forgotten about us.)
Yuvaan nodded with equal seriousness, though the amusement in his eyes was impossible to hide. Looking at Takshvi, he replied: "Hnn Shivi, ab toh bss chachu favourite bnn gyy h."
(Yes, Shivi. Now only Chachu is favorite.)
Hearing that, both Anish and Trisha looked at each other at the exact same moment.
Without saying another word, the uncle and niece dramatically slapped their own foreheads together before declaring perfect synchronization: "Jeolousy."
For a brief second, silence filled the table. Then both Yuvaan and Takshvi turned toward them with identical glares. Neither Anish nor Trisha could suppress their laughter after seeing the matching expressions on their faces.
Fortunately, before either of the parents could respond, the waiter arrived with their dinner. One by one, the steaming dishes were placed neatly on the table, filling the air with the delicious aroma of fresh food.
As soon as the food was served, Trisha forgot everything else.
True to their earlier promise, the uncle and niece immediately began sharing their meals. Trisha eagerly broke off tiny pieces of her dosa and held them up for Anish, insisting that he take a bite first. In return, Anish tore off pieces of naan, dipped them into the creamy dal makhani, and patiently fed them to her. Between every bite, both exchanged cheerful comments and giggles, making the entire meal feel warm and lively.
Watching them together, Takshvi's eyes softened with affection. A gentle smile spread across her face as she quietly admired the effortless bond they shared. Looking toward Yuvaan, she said softly: "Vaan, y dono kitne close h."
(Vaan, these two are so close.)
Yuvaan followed her gaze toward the uncle and niece who were completely engrossed in feeding each other and laughing over the smallest things. A content smile appeared on his own face before he replied: "Hnn Shivi, aisa lgta h Chote ko nyi zindagi mil gyi ho."
(Yes, Shivi. It feels like Chote has found a new life.)
Those words made Takshvi's smile slowly fade.
Her thoughts drifted back to the hospital... to Tanvisha's bruised hands, swollen feet, lowered gaze, and the silent tears she had seen in Anish's eyes after she had left. The happiness surrounding the table suddenly contrasted sharply with the heaviness she still carried inside.
After remaining silent for a few moments, she finally looked toward Yuvaan and said in a more serious tone: "Vaan, apse baat krni h muje important h."
(Vaan, I need to talk to you. It's important.)
Yuvaan immediately noticed the change in her expression. Looking at her attentively, he replied without hesitation: "Ji bilkul, ghr chlkr krte h."
(Of course. We'll talk once we get home.)
Takshvi simply nodded. Neither of them said anything further. The conversation naturally came to an end, allowing the peaceful atmosphere to return once again.
Meanwhile, completely unaware of the serious discussion waiting for later, Anish and Trisha continued enjoying their little food-sharing competition, occasionally making each other laugh so loudly that even Yuvaan and Takshvi couldn't help smiling again.
With the earlier tension now completely gone, a quiet sense of comfort settled over the family. The atmosphere that had once been filled with worry was now replaced by warmth, soft conversations, and occasional laughter. The incident in the hospital slowly became nothing more than a memory as everyone enjoyed each other's company. They peacefully finished their dinner together, grateful that Trisha was smiling once again and that everything had gone well.
Soon afterwards, they left for the villa.
The drive back was peaceful. After creating her usual little chaos during the journey with her endless chatter and playful complaints, Trisha's energy was finally exhausted. Slowly, her tiny eyelids began to droop until she eventually drifted into a deep sleep while resting comfortably in Anish's embrace. Her little arms remained loosely wrapped around his neck, completely trusting the warmth and safety she always found with her chachu.
Once they reached the villa, everyone quietly stepped out so as not to disturb the sleeping child.
Anish carefully adjusted his hold on her before effortlessly lifting her properly into his arms. Looking towards Takshvi, he said gently: "Bhabhi maa, m apne sath sula rha hu tiny pari ko. Ap aur bhai aaram se so jao. M dhyan rkh lunga."
(Bhabhi Maa, I'll let Tiny Pari sleep with me. You and Bhai should get some proper rest. I'll take care of her.)
Takshvi looked at the peacefully sleeping Trisha before shifting her gaze to Anish. There wasn't even a hint of hesitation in her eyes because she knew her daughter was safest in his care. With a small smile, she nodded and replied: "Ji bhaiya but agr preshan kre toh muje utha dena."
(Alright, Bhaiya. But if she troubles you, wake me up.)
Anish simply nodded in reassurance.
Without making any unnecessary noise, he carried the sleeping little girl upstairs and walked toward his room. The entire way, Trisha remained asleep against him, occasionally snuggling a little closer without even realizing it.
After entering his room, Anish quietly closed the door behind him before walking over to the bed. With the utmost care, he slowly bent down and gently laid Trisha on the mattress, making sure not to wake her. Even after placing her down, he adjusted her pillow properly, pulled a light blanket over her tiny body, and softly tucked it around her.
Sitting beside her for a few moments, he gently patted her stomach in slow, comforting motions, the same way he always did whenever she fell asleep with him. Every now and then, he carefully brushed away the loose strands of hair that had fallen across her forehead, making sure she remained completely comfortable. He patiently waited until her breathing became deep and even once again, reassuring himself that she wouldn't suddenly wake up searching for someone.
Only after making absolutely certain that she was sleeping peacefully did Anish quietly stand up.
He changed into comfortable clothes, switched off the brighter lights, leaving only the soft bedside lamp glowing faintly across the room, and finally returned to the bed.
Lying down beside her, he instinctively pulled the little girl into a gentle, protective embrace. One arm rested securely around her small frame—not tight enough to disturb her sleep, but firmly enough to ensure that she would neither roll off the bed nor wake up feeling alone. Even in her sleep, Trisha unconsciously moved a little closer and comfortably curled him.
A faint smile appeared on Anish's face.
Satisfied that his tiny pari was warm, safe, and sleeping peacefully, he slowly closed his own eyes, keeping her securely in his embrace until sleep quietly claimed him as well.
Meanwhile in Takshvi and Yuvaan’s Room:-
After returning home from the hospital, Yuvaan and Takshvi quietly changed into comfortable clothes before settling into their room. The day's events were still lingering in Takshvi's mind, especially everything she had witnessed at the hospital. Yet the moment Yuvaan pulled her gently into his lap, her thoughts momentarily faded away. She smiled softly and instinctively rested herself against him, feeling the familiar warmth of his embrace.
Looking at him with a playful glint in her eyes, she asked: "Aaj Isha dusre room ma h toh muje nhi chodoge na aap?"
(Today Isha is in the other room, so you won't leave me alone, right?)
Yuvaan smiled at her innocent question and wrapped his arms securely around her, holding her close as he replied: "M uske samne bhi hug kr skta hu but thoda alg isiliye rehta hu ki abhi vo choti h."
(I can hug you in front of her too, but I maintain a little distance because she is still young.)
Takshvi hummed softly, her fingers absentmindedly playing with the edge of his shirt as she gathered the courage to bring up what had been occupying her mind since they had left the hospital. After a small pause, she looked toward him and said: "Vaan, apse baat krni h."
(Vaan, I need to talk to you.)
Yuvaan immediately nodded, giving her his complete attention as he replied: "Ji kahiye."
(Yes, tell me.)
Takshvi took a slow breath before beginning, her expression turning serious as she said: "Aaj bhaiya royy th hospital ma."
(Bhaiya was crying at the hospital today.)
Yuvaan's eyes widened instantly. The worry that appeared on his face was immediate and genuine. He knew Anish well enough to understand that if he had cried, something must have affected him deeply. His voice became concerned as he asked: "Kyu? Vo thk h na? Abhi toh hss rha tha vo."
(Why? Is he okay? He was laughing just now.)
Takshvi quickly nodded, reassuring him before explaining everything she had observed: "Hn Vaan, bhaiya vese toh thk h. Aaj hospital ma ek ldki aai thi Tanvisha Bansal and usko kisi na pkka torture kiya tha y toh dekhkr pta chl rha tha and bhaiya khud accept kr rhe h ki vo uska drd nhi seh pa rhe, unse Tanvisha ki chuppi, uska drd nhi dekha gya Vaan. Fr mene unse pucha ki vo unhe psnd krte h kya toh fr chup hogyy but fr unke face pr smile thi. Ap samjh rhe ho na m kya keh rhi hu?"
(Yes, Vaan, bhaiya is otherwise fine. A girl named Tanvisha Bansal came to the hospital today, and it was obvious just by looking at her that someone had badly tortured her. Bhaiya himself is accepting that he can't bear her pain; he couldn't bear Tanvisha's silence or see her suffering, Vaan. Then I asked him if he liked her, and he became quiet, but there was a smile on his face afterward. You understand what I'm trying to say, right?)
For a few seconds, Yuvaan remained silent, processing every word. Then, a knowing smile slowly appeared on his face. He understood exactly what Takshvi was trying to tell him.
With a teasing yet certain expression, he replied: "Yhi ki Chote ko pyar hogya h."
(That Chote has fallen in love.)
Takshvi nodded, but the smile on her face carried a trace of concern. She knew that Anish's happiness mattered deeply to her, but there was another side to the situation that couldn't simply be ignored. She looked at Yuvaan and asked: "But Vaan, Tanvisha ki family?"
(But Vaan, what about Tanvisha's family?)
Yuvaan's expression immediately turned confident. A small smirk appeared on his lips as if he had already made up his mind about what needed to be done. Without allowing hesitation to enter the conversation, he replied: "Kl subah ready rehna, chlenge unke ghr."
(Be ready tomorrow morning; we'll go to her house.)
Takshvi looked at him in surprise, almost unable to believe how quickly he had decided everything. Her eyes widened as she asked: "Sch ma?"
(Really?)
Yuvaan nodded firmly. There was no uncertainty in his expression. His younger brother had spent years putting everyone else's happiness before his own, and now, for the first time, Yuvaan could see a genuine possibility of happiness entering Anish's life.
He replied with quiet determination: "Hnn, ab pehli baar Chote ki khushi ki baari aai h itne saalo ma, aise hi thodi chd dunga."
(Yes, for the first time in so many years, it's Chote's turn to be happy. I won't let this opportunity go so easily.)
Those words touched Takshvi deeply. Her eyes softened with gratitude, and without saying anything further, she wrapped her arms tightly around him. Resting her head against his chest, she whispered: "Thankyou Vaan."
Yuvaan smiled and held her close, silently reassuring her that he meant every word.
After some time, the couple finally settled down together. The emotional weight of the day gradually faded as the room became quiet, and before they knew it, both Yuvaan and Takshvi drifted into deep, peaceful slumbers.
The Next Morning:
The following morning began with considerably less peace than Yuvaan and Takshvi had expected.
Yuvaan and Takshvi were waiting for Anish and Trisha, who had somehow managed to turn the early morning into a full argument session inside Anish's room. Their voices continued coming from behind the closed door, with one side defending a completely serious matter and the other refusing to agree with anything being said.
Yuvaan closed his eyes for a moment, clearly trying to gather his patience before looking toward Takshvi and saying: "Shivi, y dono subah subah shuru hogyy h. M kuch kahunga toh inko lagega dant rha hu."
(Shivi, these two have started arguing first thing in the morning. If I say anything, they'll think I'm scolding them.)
Takshvi tried to suppress her amusement before nodding and reassuring him: "Ab shant rhiye, m dekhti hu."
(Now calm down, I'll handle it.)
Yuvaan nodded before deciding to accompany her. He replied: "M bhi chlta hu."
(I'll come too.)
Both of them walked toward Anish's room. The closer they got, the clearer the argument became. Takshvi exchanged an amused glance with Yuvaan before they finally reached the door.
The moment Yuvaan opened it, chaos greeted him. A flying T-shirt came straight toward him and landed directly on his face. Yuvaan froze. Takshvi immediately covered her mouth, trying desperately not to laugh.
Inside the room, Anish was completely focused on the argument and seemed to have no idea what had just happened. He continued speaking to Trisha as though nothing unusual had occurred: "Tiny pari, kuch dhng ka btao na beta. Apki chachi se milne jana h."
(Tiny pari, tell me something decent, sweetheart. We have to go meet your chachi.)
Trisha looked at the scattered clothes around her and then dramatically slapped her forehead, clearly exhausted by her uncle's fashion choices before saying: "Offo chachu, apke pass bilkul bhi acche kpde nhi h."
(Oh Chachu, you don't have any good clothes at all.)
Anish's expression changed instantly.
He looked genuinely offended by the accusation. His eyebrows rose as he defended himself: "Ohh hello miss, apko pta bhi h ki sare brands k kpde h mere jinko apne idhar udhar feka h. Upper se keh rhe ho ki dhng k kpde nhi h mere pass."
(Oh, hello miss, do you even know that all of these are branded clothes? You are the one who has thrown them all over the place, and on top of that you're saying I don't have decent clothes.)
Trisha nodded with complete confidence, apparently unwilling to accept his explanation. She began searching for the right word before saying: "Hnn, kyunki y umm.... demi...demi...."
(Yes, because these are, umm... demi... demi...)
Anish stared at her for a moment before correcting her patiently: "Denim beta denim."
Trisha immediately huffed, clearly uninterested in the correction. She looked over the clothes once again and continued complaining: "Hnn jo bhi h, y toh thk h but shirt tshirt kuch nhi h acha."
(Yes, whatever it is, this is fine, but none of the shirts or T-shirts are good.)
Anish's shoulders dropped. His expression became almost comically helpless as he looked at the tiny fashion critic standing before him. With a pout, he pleaded: "Aise mtt kro na beta, thodi toh help kro."
(Don't do this, beta. At least help me a little.)
Trisha opened her mouth to continue her argument, but before another word could escape her lips, a deep and authoritative voice filled the room: "Enough!!!"
Both Anish and Trisha froze. Their eyes widened as they slowly turned toward the doorway. Takshvi stood there trying to control her laughter while Yuvaan glared at the two of them with an expression that instantly made swallow nervously. For a brief moment, Anish and Trisha exchanged a terrified glance.
Both of them seemed to have the exact same thought: "Aaj toh lecture pkka."
(We're definitely getting a lecture today.)
Yuvaan stepped inside the room with measured steps, but his attempt at maintaining authority lasted only a few seconds.
His foot suddenly struck one of Anish's shirts lying on the floor. He stumbled slightly. Takshvi couldn't hold herself anymore and burst into laughter. Anish and Trisha immediately looked at each other again, their expressions becoming even more nervous. Yuvaan slowly turned his head toward Takshvi and gave her a sharp glare.
Takshvi immediately straightened herself and tried to look innocent as she coughed lightly before saying: "Vaan, aaram se."
(Vaan, carefully.)
Yuvaan ignored the amusement around him and walked directly toward Anish. Looking at the disaster surrounding his younger brother, he asked: "Kya drama h y?"
(What is this drama?)
Anish immediately fumbled with his words, suddenly losing all his confidence: "Vo bhai... kpde.."
(Well, bhai... clothes...)
Yuvaan stared at him for a moment before walking toward the wardrobe. He opened it, looked through the neatly arranged clothes, and within seconds pulled out a plain white T-shirt and a jacket.
He walked back and handed them to Anish before saying firmly: "Jakr ready ho vrna teri shadi abhi krva dungi acche se."
(Go and get ready, otherwise I'll get you married right now, properly.)
Anish's eyes widened. He didn't need another warning. He immediately grabbed the clothes and rushed toward the bathroom to change. Once Anish disappeared inside, Yuvaan slowly turned his attention toward Trisha. His expression softened slightly, but his eyes still carried the seriousness of an elder who had been observing her mischief for quite some time.
He asked: "Hnn, apka kya role h?"
(Hmm, what is your role?)
Trisha couldn't help giggling. Without any hesitation, she rushed toward him and hugged him tightly around his waist before answering with complete innocence: "Masti papa."
(To have fun, Papa.)
Yuvaan sighed deeply, though the corners of his lips betrayed the amusement he was trying to hide. He bent down and picked her up into his arms, settling her comfortably against his chest.
Looking at her affectionately, he said: "Bht shaitani dekh rha hu kl se, frse dant pdd jaegi. Maan jao."
(I've been seeing a lot of mischief from you since yesterday. You'll get scolded again. Behave yourself.)
Trisha smiled knowingly as she wrapped her arms around his neck. She clearly knew that Yuvaan's threats were never as serious as they sounded. With a mischievous little smile, she replied: "Muje pta h aap bss aise hi keh rhe ho, aap kuch nhi kahoge."
(I know you're just saying that. You won't say anything to me.)
Yuvaan couldn't stop himself from chuckling at her confidence. He adjusted her comfortably in his arms before saying: "Ab aapko ready kr dete h."
(Now let's get you ready.)
Trisha happily nodded. Takshvi stood slightly away from them, silently watching the scene unfolding in front of her. The sight touched something deep inside her.
Seeing Yuvaan carrying Trisha so naturally, hearing Trisha call him Papa without hesitation, and watching the way he patiently handled every bit of her mischief made Takshvi's eyes slowly fill with moisture.
There was a quiet ache hidden behind her smile.
Once in her own life, she had wished for the warmth of a father's love, for someone who would pick her up without hesitation, protect her, scold her gently, and make her feel like she was precious.
But that love had never been a part of her childhood.
And now, watching Yuvaan give Trisha everything she had once longed for, Takshvi couldn't help feeling emotional. Yuvaan noticed the moisture gathering in her eyes. His expression immediately softened.
Looking toward Trisha, he tried to lighten the moment with gentle teasing and said: "Dekho Isha, apki mumma toh emotional ho jati h. Kya hi kre ab hum inka."
(Look, Isha, your Mumma gets emotional so easily. What are we even going to do with her?)
Trisha looked toward her mother and then sighed dramatically, as though she had already come up with the perfect solution.
She looked at Yuvaan and said: "Papa, room ma lekr chlte h mumma ko fr vaha gudgudi krenge."
(Papa, let's take Mumma to the room, and then we'll tickle her there.)
Takshvi immediately threw them a fake glare. But neither Yuvaan nor Trisha paid any attention to it. Instead, Yuvaan smiled and carried Trisha toward the room while Takshvi followed them, shaking her head at their combined mischief.
Soon, the entire family became busy getting ready for the day. Anish eventually came out dressed in the clothes Yuvaan had selected for him, while Trisha was also dressed and ready, still carrying the same mischievous sparkle in her eyes.
Takshvi made sure everything they needed was packed properly before joining them.
Finally, once everyone was ready, Yuvaan gathered the family together and they left the house, heading toward Bansal Villa. For Anish, the journey carried an unfamiliar mixture of nervousness and hope.
For Takshvi, it was the beginning of something she desperately wanted for her brother in law. And for Yuvaan, it was a simple promise he had silently made to himself. This time, he would not let his Chote's happiness remain unfinished.
